Glen Tanar Estate is about to commence forestry operations the Boreland area, to the south-west of the Bridge of Ess, Glen Tanar.
Works will begin early-Feb and run to the end of April (estimate). These operations aim to improve the quality of remaining trees, increase the light to the forest floor to assist regeneration and harvest a crop of timber.
The timber produced will be sold to sawmills and other processers for construction and fencing products and used to produce renewable heat and electricity.
Public access will be affected. Track closures will be in place for periods during these operations. Please avoid accessing the operational areas, stay well clear of any forestry machinery and, adhere to any track closures and instructions given by staff and forestry operators.
